KUPWARA: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 5 vehicles and arrested 5 drivers in Kupwara.
A Police party of Police Station Kupwara headed by SHO Kupwara Issaq Ahmad seized 5 vehicles (3 trippers and 2 JCB's) and arrested 5 drivers at Mughalpora area of Kupwara for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
According to our special correspondent Wasim Majnoon Mir, said that a case vide FIR No 84/24 u/s 188, 379/IPC n 21 MMDRA has been registered in Police Station Kupwara and further investigation have been taken up.
Pertinent to mention here that mining department Kupwara on yesterday issued an order, "stated that in view of Current Flood Situation and apprehension of damage of property and human life and in the best public interest. Mining activities in the district are hereby suspended till further orders, order reads."
