Congress fighting against ‘BJP-AAP-Akali grand alliance’ in Ludhiana: Warring

Asserts, will still emerge victorious with record margin
LUDHIANA: Punjab Congress president and party’s candidate from Ludhiana parliamentary constituency, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today said that he was pitted against a “hidden and not so hidden grand alliance” between the BJP, the AAP and the Akali Dal in Ludhiana.

In an informal interaction with reporters, when asked which candidate was his main fight against, Warring said, “my fight is against the grand alliance between the BJP, the AAP and the Akalis and I am going to defeat all of them with a record margin”.
The PCC president pointed out, Chief Minister’s friendship with BJP candidate Ravneet Bittu is no secret and the AAP fielded the weakest ever candidate from Ludhiana to help Bittu. Similarly, there is already a tactful alliance between the BJP and the Akalis, thus it makes a grand alliance between the BJP, the AAP and the Akalis.

The PCC president observed that the three parties had come together to divide the Congress vote against the BJP. “But they are badly mistaken and they will realize it on June 4 when votes will be counted”, he said, while expressing full confidence that the Congress will emerge victorious like it has since 2009 in Ludhiana.

Warring said, it is the Congress party, which won Ludhiana without a break in 2009, 2014 and 2019 and it will repeat the feat in 2024 again. “This will also explode the misplaced ego of some people who had started thinking themselves as bigger than their party”, he remarked, without mentioning any names.

Right since the day his candidature was announced, Warring has launched an aggressive multi-pronged campaign in all the nine assembly segments falling in the Ludhiana parliamentary constituency. He has been reaching out to every leader and worker of the party and getting tremendous response.
