PUCA Urged Punjabi University to Reintroduce Yearly Exam System

MOHALI: A meeting of office Bearers of Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) was held recently under the leadership of President, PUCA, Dr. Anshu Kataria to bring more excellence in the Education system of Punjab.

Independence Day celebrated at Khalsa Institutions

 The students of Khalsa College of Education (KCE), GT Road, Khalsa College of Education, Ranjit Avenue and Khalsa College International Public School (KCIPS)today celebrated the completion of 71 years of Independent India with the hoisting of National Flag by respective Principals including Dr. Harpreet Kaur Dr. SP Kaur Dhillon and Gurjit Singh Sethi, amidst the rendition of National Anthem. In the message they said that it is the time to salute the nation and its freedom fighters on the eve of its Independence Day. The management, staff and students of these institutions marked the occasion by celebrating the cultural diversity of India where students sported the traditional attire of different states of India.

CGC Landran celebrates Teej

The campus at Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran echoed with lively boliyaan and beats of the dhol as Teej the traditional festival of Sawan (the rainy season), was celebrated with fervor. Renowned Punjabi Actor and Director Sunita Dhir graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

CGCians make it to the final round of international Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition

Team M3N consisting of four, third year Mechanical Engineering students Naman, Mohd Jafar, Mrityunjaya and Mohit, from Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran have qualified for the final round of global level Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition 2018 for creating a unique multilingual mobile application (app.) named ‘DocPat Helper. The competition is one of the activities that belong to the UNESCO Global Action Programme on Education for Sustainable Development. It recognizes innovative ideas and projects from young entrepreneurs around the world that have a positive societal impact and which champion and implement one or more of UNDP’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Khalsa College Students Clear UGC Net in English

 The two students of Khalsa College's English department Harjinder Kaur and Inderpal Kaur have cleared the University Grants Commission NET. Principal Khalsa College Dr. Mehal Singh said that the two who are the bright students passed the prominent test with flying colours as he congratulated the students and the faculty members includign the DEan Academics and HoD Sukhmeet Bedi. A student of Journalism department Gurpreet Singh also cleared the UGC Net exam, said Dr. Mehal Singh.

CBSE has declared the result of NET/JRF exam which was held on 8 July 2018 across 91 cities and 10 Lakh students appeared for exam .Around 9500 students appeared for CBSE NET & JRF exam from Chandigarh in July 2018 session, out of which around 850 students have qualified

NTA takes charge of JEE Main 2019; Check the expected level of difficulty

JEE main or Joint Entrance Examination main is an engineering entrance examination on the basis of whose result the colleges like IITs, NIT, etc. gives students admission. This exam is must for all the science students. JEE Main used to be conducted by CBSE but from 2019 it will be conducted by NTA or National Testing Agency.

CGC Landran pays rich tribute to Kargil Martyrs

Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran organised an event to celebrate the 19th anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas, commemorating the memory of bravehearts of the Kargil war. Air Marshal Vinod Patney (SYSM, PVSM, AVSM, VrC) was the Chief guest on the occasion. Other distinguished guests gracing the event included Brig. (retd) Khushal Thakur, Gen. (retd) Trilochan Singh, Director CIMH, Col. Praveen Kumar (VrC), Lt. Ritu (Army Air Defence) and Mr Ranjit Bajaj (Minerva Academy).
