PHAGWARA: The Phagwara Police have busted a racket of criminals being run from the jail and have arrested two criminals under section 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 205, 120B of IPC on the charges of preparing and misusing fake stamps for the bails of arrested accused.
The Superintendent of the Police Phagwara Rupinder Kaur Bhatti while addressing a press conference at her office in Phagwara told newsmen here on Wednesday that the arrested accused were identified as Avjinder Singh@ Raja resident of Village Arjunwal PS Adampur and Jatinder Singh@ Sonu Sood resident of Village Panchhat(Phagwara).
S.P. Bhatti in the presence of DSP Phagwara Jaspreet Singh said that the arrested accused Avjinder confessed his crime and told before the police that he(Avjinder) took Rs 12, 000/- from the mother of Jatinder(already in Kpt Jail) to get his bail with the help of fake documents.
She told that Jatinder Singh was already in the jail in a case and was brought in production warrants. SP told that the arrested accused disclosed the names of their other accomplice identified as Manbir Singh@ Mangu of Adampur and Kuldip Singh@ Sathi RO Mehatpur(Nakodar).Manbir is already in Kapurthala Jail while Kuldip is still at large.The Police have recovered three fake stamps from the arrested accused.
In another case the police have recovered one .32 Bore Pistol and a country made pistol from a already arrested criminal Vishal@ Vikki, said SP Bhatti. She said after interrogation the accused disclosed before the police about the hidden weapons.
