Expert talk on Constitutional law at RBU

MOHALI: The University School of Law, Rayat-Bahra University here today organized a special lecture on Constitutional Law in the University Auditorium.

Prof. Virendra Kumar, founder Director, Chandigarh Judicial Academy, delivered the key note address on “Remembering Dr. B. R. Ambedkar: How to Avert Conflict between Supreme Court and the Government”.

In his expert talk at the special lecture on Constitutional Law in the University Auditorium organized by the University School of Law, Rayat-Bahra University Prof. Virendra Kumar, in his expert talk highlighted the farsightedness of Dr. Ambedkar, the architect of Indian Constitution. Citing various landmark judgments of the Supreme Court, Prof. Kumar emphasized as to how the Apex Court, over a period of 68 years, had succeeded through its constant efforts in retaining and preserving the spirit of the Constitution.

He also dwelt on the contemporary issue pertaining to judicial appointments and reflected upon the possible strategies to avert the ongoing conflict between the Supreme Court and the Government.

Dr Pragya Kumar was the Guest of Honour at the function.

Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor, RBU, Prof. Daljit Singh, Vice- Chancellor, Rayat Bahra University and Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Bains, Dean, University School of Law, Rayat Bahra University, also presided over the academic event.

Dr. Sonia Grewal Mahal, Vice-Principal, University School of Law, Rayat Bahra University, welcomed the dignitaries.

Prof. (Dr.) O. P. Midha, Registrar, RBU, and the Deans of other institutes of RBU also were present on the occasion.

Prof. (Dr.) M. S. Bains, Dean, University School of Law, Rayat-Bahra University proposed the vote of thanks.
