AMRITSAR: Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University, Patiala won the Inter-University Hockey Women Championship-2024 and bagged the trophy while Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar remained second and Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak was declared third in the tourney.
Khalsa College Physical Education (KCPE) hosted the tournament on the behalf of the University. In total 27 teams from all over the region took part in the event and finals and semi finals were played at the hockey ground of Khalsa College Senior Secondary School today, said Khalsa University (KU) Controller Examinations and Principal KCPE Dr.Kanwaljit Singh.
KU Pro-Chancellor and honourary secretary KCGC Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina who was the chief guest during the prize distribution said they were happy to host the inter-varsity event. He asked the students to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship to do well in national hockey in the coming events. He congratulated the winners and asked those who could not lay their hands on the trophy to try harder next time.
