Making of E-card under Sarbat sehat bima yojna to be expedited - Deputy Commissioner

KAPURTHALA: Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that under the sarbat sehat bima yojna in kapurthala district, the process of issuing E- Cards for free treatment facility up to Rs. 5 lakh to the people must be expedited. It may be mentioned here that Thori who is Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar has additional charge of Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala.

He said that e-cards have been issued to more than 1 lakh 10 thousand people in the district while a total of 3 lakh 76 thousand cards are to be issued to the farmers, construction workers, blue card holders, journalists , small traders etc.

These cards are being issued at all the service centers, offices of market committees at kapurthala, sultanpur lodhi, Dhilwan, Phagwara and bholath , civil hospitals and common service centers in the district.

Apart from this Rural Development and Panchayat Department and card making companies Vidal and CSC are also organizing village camps to provide the card making facility at doorstep.

He asked the heads of various departments to ensure that the people registered with their department should be covered under this scheme.

It may be mentioned that under this scheme, in all government and reputed private hospitals, apart from the facility of cancer, heart, joint, dialysis, treatment at the time of child birth facility is also available.

In Kapurthala district so far more than 7500 people have received free treatment worth Rs. 5.35 crore.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people to immediately go to the nearest service center or camp in the village to get their e-card issued to them and their family.
