Assam’s historic mandate is for developed, secure, self-reliant nation: Sarbananda Sonowal 

GUWAHATI: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal welcomed the spectacular performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Assam Assembly elections and described the historic mandate as a strong “endorsement of development-driven governance and people-centric leadership”.

The MP from Assam’s Dibrugarh also congratulated Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for leading the alliance to a landslide victory and thanked the people of Assam for giving a historic mandate to the BJP.

“Assam has spoken! I extend my heartiest congratulations to Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. Your tireless energy and hard work have played a vital role in ensuring that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message of development reaches every corner of the state. Our collective resolve for a safe, secure, and self-reliant Assam will only grow stronger in the days ahead,” Sonowal said.

He further said that the scale of victory reflects the deep trust reposed by the people in the double-engine government and its consistent focus on inclusive growth, infrastructure development and welfare delivery, and the mandate will further accelerate the state’s development.
