CHANDIGARH: Yuvraj Singh on Thursday brought smiles to young fan Rocky Dubey's face when he met the young lad in Indore. The 11-year old fan and budding cricketer, who is unfortunately suffering from blood cancer expressed his desire to meet his idol a few days ago.
Hearing about this, the KXIP management was eager to facilitate the wish and soon enough the boy was on the Holkar Stadium ground standing face to face with Yuvraj Singh, who was practicing at the nets for the upcoming game.
The veteran cricketer, who has suffered from the disease himself and successfully overcome it, gifted Rocky a Kings XI Punjab bag, a T-shirt signed by the team players and a KXIP cap that he signed and placed on the young lad’s head whilst having a friendly chat with him.
Meanwhile a statement issued by Punjab Kings XI said "This is in response to the articles that have been doing the rounds in the last couple of days on the reported disagreement after Kings XI's last game. The stories have led to a lot of speculation and we at Kings XI Punjab would like to clarify that all is well and the incident being referred to, is a figment of imagination of some 'interested parties'.
Such meetings are a common place in the running of any franchise and is a regular feature after every game. It is a routine practice and should not be misunderstood for any altercation or misgivings within the team.
We are all working towards a successful season and such discussions help the team come together and devise strategies going forward."
