Tarini Goyal wears Chandigarh Chess crown

CHANDIGARH: Tarini Goyal of Sacred Heart School became the champion with 6.5 points in the 29th Chandigarh Chess Championship  at St. Xavier’s School, Sector 44-C, here today The second position was bagged by Naveen Bansal, who scored 5.5 points. The third and fourth positions were bagged Varun Gupta and Jupinderjit Singh also on 5½ points respectively.

A total of 49 players were participating in this championship out of which 20 were FIDE rated players.

Tarini Goyal, Naveen Bansal, Varun Gupta and Jupinderjit Singh will be representing Chandigarh in the forthcoming National Open Senior Chess Championship 2018 to be held at Jammu, from  December 8 to 18.
