PCA ground wins best ground award in IPL – 11

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Cricket Association secretary R.P. Singla lauded the efforts of ground and administrative staff who put in hard work during the year which has resulted in PCA Ground being declared the best maintained ground for the IPL season  11 out of the grounds which hosted four or less IPL matches. 

The association was given a cash award of Rs.25,00,000 . Mr. Singla further stated that the standard set by the association in maintenance of grounds will not only be maintained but immensely improved in the association’s upcoming PCA New stadium at Mullanpur (New Chandigarh).

Meanwhile, the league stage of the Punjab Inter-District Under-19 Cricket Tournament for Dhruv Pandove Trophy has concluded with Amritsar topping Pool – 1 with  (15 points) followed by Chandigarh District  (13 points) in the second slot. 

In Pool-II   Patiala topped with (9) points Jalandhar  (7 points) taking the second slot.  The semi-final lineup has been drawn with Amritsar top team of Pool-I taking on Jalandhar  No.2 team of Pool-II in a three day semi-final to be played from May 30 to June 1 at Burlton Park Jalandhar.

The second semi final between Patiala top team of Pool-II  and Chandigarh  No. 2 team of Pool-I will take place at I.S. Bindra Stadium, PCA Mohali  from May 30 to 1st June 1.  Matches at both the venues will start at  7.30 a.m according to Mr. Sushil Kapoor, spokesperson PCA.  The final of the tournament will be played at I.S. Bindra Stadium, PCA Mohali from  June 3 to 5.  The matches will be watched by the panel members of the Junior Selection Committee at different venues
