CHICAGO: Second seeded British pair of Luje Bambridge and Neal Skupski defeated Leander Paes of India and Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela of Mexico in the doubles finals of the $150,000 Challenger Tennis Tournament in Chicago. The match lasted 56 minutes and the Great Britain pair emerged winners in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
The big server British pair fired half a dozen aces and committed just one double fault. Paes-Reyes-Varela niether committed even a single double fault and did not have any ace to their credit. They saved one break point out of three. The Britishers did not face any break point.
Bambridge-Skupski won 2 out of three break points.
Paes-Reyes-Varela had 84 per cent of their first serve in while Bambridge-Skupski recorded 62 per cent first serve in. Paes-Reyes-Varela won 68 per cent (25/37) first service while their opponents got 87 pet cent (27/31).
The British pair won 40 of 50 total points while Paes-Reyes-Varela won 31 out of 44 total points.
