Kulwinder Rambo bowls Professional India to title triumph

CHANDIGARH: Riding on superb bowling performance from Kulwinder Rambo (4 for 21), Professional India recorded a fine five-wicket win over Technocrat in the final of the UT Cricket Association (UTCA) T20 Cup Tournament played at Sector 16 Stadium here on Sunday under the floodlights.

On winning the toss, Technocrats opted to bat. Their decision backfired as they were bundled out for 96 runs in 15.4 overs. Kulwinder Rambo (4 for 21) ran through the Technocrats batting line-up with his accurate bowling. Prabhjot Singh (21) and Manoj (18) were the main architects of the Technocrats innings.

He was ably supported by Sumit Hooda and Amit Verma, who bagged two wickets each. In reply, Professional India achieved the target in 17 overs, losing five wickets. Kulwinder Rambo was adjudged man of the match. Harpreet Sunny was named best batsman while Amit Verma was declared man of the tournament.

Punjab Governor and Administrator of UT VP Badnore who was the chief guest gave away the prizes and prize-money to the winning and runner-up teams respectively. Sanjay Beniwal, DGP Chandigarh was the guest of honour during the final. The winning team won Rs 51,000 while the runners-up fetched Rs 31,000.

The match had presence of UTCA President, Sanjay Tandon UTCA’s senior vice-president Vivek Atray, vice-present Ravinder Talwar, general secretary Subhash Mahajan and vice-president MP Singh along with other office-bearers.
