J-K bundled out for 39 as Punjab win by innings and 415 runs

CHANDIGARH: Deadly spell of 8-2-15-6 by right arm medium fast bower Karanpreet Singh and well supported by right arm medium fast bowler Ayush Goyal (2 for 18) and Anurag Watts (2 for 1) helped Punjab rout Jammu and Kashmir by an innings and 415 runs in the North Zone  Imder-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy at the Gandhi Ground in Amritsar today.
Facing a mammoth first innings total of 546 for 4 declared, Jammu and Kashmir batsmen could not cope with the Punjab fast bowlers and were bundled out for 39 in 23 overs. Five of their batsmen could not open their accounts before being dismissed. Sumer Singh was the only Jammu and Kashmir batsman to reach the double figure mark  and remained out out on 15. Musaif Ajaz ws the second highest scorer for his team with eight.
Earlier, Punjab, resuming at their overnight score of 453 for 3. declard their first innings closed at 546 for 4 in 113 overs. Aditya Partap Singh (237), Ridham Satyawan  (148),  Rajinder Singh (58 not out) and Gagan Verma (40 not out) bolstered their innings with solid batting performance.
