NEW DELHI: Khaitan Public School registered a 3-1 victory over Padmashree NN Mohan Public School (PNNMPS) after they fought tooth and nail whereas Ryan International School cruised to a 2-0 victory against Lovely Public School, in the qualifying stages of the Junior boys’ category of Reliance Foundation Youth Sports Football Tournament, here at the Bal Bhawan Public School ground.

Khaitan Public School’s Shrey netted in on the 10th minute to give his side the edge against their opponents. However, their opponents did not shy away from the challenge as Vivek scored exactly four minutes later to make it level pegging.

Khaitan Public School didn’t get bogged down with the quick equalizer and gained the advantage again, courtesy of a clinical finish by Piyush just a couple of minutes later. Even though Khaitan’s defence line was put under immense pressure, they stood resilient in front of their opponent’s attacks and went into the break with a slender advantage.

Although the boys from PNNMPS put up a staunch fight, all their efforts of pushing for a second equalizer were put to bed as Khaitan Public School’s Jatin took advantage of their opponent’s high line and netted in on the 46th minute to seal the game and eventually beat them 3-1.

In another match, Ryan International School didn’t have to break a sweat as they emerged victorious against Lovely Public School in a one-sided encounter. They broke the deadlock early on in the eighth minute courtesy of a goal by Aadil. His teammate Jyotiramaya, in the second half, followed it up with a 42ndminute strike to seal the deal.
