Thanking the Jathedar of Akal Takht for this bold decision, they said the National Gatka Association of India (NGAI), Gatka Association Punjab (GAP) and ISMAA are determined to revive and promote this great game like any other Indian sport and get this game recognized at national level and to make it a sport of everybody’s choice. They stated that due to the hard work and dedication of NAGI, GAP and ISMAA that this game has now become an approved game and is famous in the country and it also attracted huge audience abroad.

They said the Gatka itself is a complete art of self-defence and every child in all the families must adopt this game to remain fit and to keep the children away from the social evils and the slow poison of drugs.
