Drona, Rushil, Nimrat, Suryanshi won the Championship

CHANDIGRH: Eighth seed Drona Walia defeated Bhupender Dahiya 6-0, 7-6(5) in the boys under-18 singls final in the CLTA-AITA Championship Series (CS-7) Tennis Tournament at the Sector 10 Tennis Stadium here today.

Drona Walia started with good rhythm and won the first set in 35 minutes  without dropping a single game 6-0. He was looking in a sublime form. However, second seed Bhupender Dahiya made him work hard in the second set as he took an early lead 3-0 and it was looking that Bhupender Dahiya will take the set, but Drona fought back and took set tie break 7-6(5) amd the match.  

In boys under-12 singles finals top seed Rushil Khosla defeated 5th seed Shraey Vir 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(4). CLTA trainee Shreay Vir had a tough road towards the finals as he played many 3 setters long matches to reach the final. Also in the finals he had a tough fight against top seed Rushil Khosla , however Rushil Khosla used his experience to get the better of the 5th seed.    

In girls under-18 singles Finals CLTA trainee Nimrat Kaur Atwal defeated another CLTA trainee Rahat Mangat in a straight sets match 6-4, 6-1. Nimrat took the advantage of her height and served big and won the match with her furious ground strokes.    

In girls under-12 singles finals top seed and CLTA trainee  Suryanshi Tanwar defeated unseeded opponent Jigyasa Narsinghani 6-1, 6-1 in a one sided affair.

Boys under-18 singles:  Drona Walia [8] bt. Bhupender Dahiya [2] 6-0, 7-6(5)

Boys under-12 singles: Rushil Khosla [1] bt. Shraey Vir [5] 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(4).

Girls under-18 singles: Nimrat Kaur Atwal bt. Rahat Mangat 6-4, 6-1 .  

Girls under-12 singles: Suryanshi Tanwar [1] bt. Jigyasa Narsinghani 6-1, 6-1.
