Canada, Argentina, USA and Chile men in semis of Pan Am Hockey Cup

SANTIAGO (CHILE): Semi-finalists in the men's category have been identified at the completion of the 2020 Pan American Cup Hockey here today. In the cross-over fixtures Canada beat Brazil 4-0 and Chile crossed swords with Mexico with the former recording a 3-1 verdict.
In the semi-finals to be played tomorrow Pool B runners-up Canada will face Pool A leaders Argentina while formidable Pool B leaders USA are pitted against Chile.
In the cross-over Canada scored one in each quarter for an authentic 4-0 victory. Captain Johnston Gordon gave his team 1-0 lead by converting a penalty stroke in thr 11th minute. Fin Boothroyd scored a field goal in the28th minute.
Keegan Pereira struck his team's third goal in the third quarter (32nd minute). Captain Johnston Gordon rounded off the winner's tally by converting a penalty corner.
Brazil captain Patrocinico André received a yellow card in the 58th minute. Canada's Matthew got a green cardin the 37th minute.
In the second cross-over umpires Diaz Reinier and Hock Oliver had to use three yellow and two green cards to keep the match under control. Guillermo Gonzalez and Juan Soso, both of Mexico, got yellow cards in the 32nd and 58th minute. Jorge Aguilar of Mexico got a green card in the 15th minute. Chile's Felipe Renz (45th yellow) and Axel Troncoso (38th, green card) were penalised.
It was Mexico who took the lead in the 20th minute as Sosa Juan Amroso Juan converted a penalty corner in the 36th to restore parity for Chile. After the success, Chile gained their pressure and scored two more goals through Jose Hurtado (40th) and Maldonado Jose (57th, penalty stroke).
