Calvin, Krishan, Kaavya and Sandeepti win tennis titles

CHANDIGARHCalvin Golmei (boys under-18), Krishan Hooda (boys under-16), Kaavya Sawhney (girls under-18) and Sandeepti Singh Rao (girls under-16) emerged winners in their respective categories of the CLTA-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament for Boys and Girls under-16 and 18 at the Sector 10 Tennis Stadium here today.
CLTA trainee and top seed defeated Ajay Malik of Haryana in three setter marathon match lasting more than three hours. Calvin won first set easily 6-2. In the second set Ajay Malik played high quality tennis and forced his opponent to maee errors.. Ajay won the set 6-2. In the deciding final set both players played very high energetic game with consistently, finally. Calvin came back strongly and used his experience to close the set and match 6-4 in boys under-18 singles final.
CHART trainee Krishan Hooda trounced second seed Krish Patel of Gujarat in straight sets in boys under-16 singles. In the first set Krish Patel was leading 4-1. Krishan fought back and took the set in tie break 7-6(5). In the second set Krishan was dominating from the first game. Krishan displayed top form and took the set and match easily 6-0.
Kaavya Sawhney, a CLTA trainee, tamed another CLTA Trainee Aspreet Kaur Bajwa in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 in Girls under-18 singles final. Sandeepti Singh Rao of Haryana defeated Vanshika Choudhary from Uttar Pradesh in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 in girls under-16 singles.
CLTA Patron-in-Chief Rajan Kashyap, Mr. S.M. Sharma and Mrs. Bhupender Banta Singh, Member Executive of CLTA distributed the prizes to the winners and runner-up.
