Anti-Doping Awareness Seminar in Panchkula

CHANDIGARH : Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij will inaugurate Anti-Doping Awareness Seminar on July 13 at Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula.
While giving this information here today, Director, Sports and Youth Affairs Jagdeep Singh said that this seminar would be jointly organised by the Department and National Anti-Doping Agency, New Delhi. In this seminar, all trainers and 20 each national and international level sports persons from each district have been invited. He said that one doctor from each district has also been invited in the seminar, where national anti-doping agency would provide information about banned drugs.
Meanwhile, Mr Anil Vij disclosed that multi-purpose hall and athletic tracks would be constructed in every district to encourage various sports in the state.
The Minister was speaking after unveiling the trophy of Haryana Champions T-20 Cricket Tournament to be organised in association with Young India Sports Society and GD Sharma Memorial Cricket Society, here today.
He said that the championship would be organised from August 24 to September 2, 2017 at Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium in Panchkula. The winning team would get cash award of Rs 21 lakh and the runners- up team would get Rs 11 lakh and trophy.
He said that sports persons like Chetan Sharma, Kapil Dev and other senior sports persons of cricket would have special role in the organisation of this tournament. This would help in encouraging cricketers in the state. He said that the conducive sports atmosphere would help the sports persons of the state keep away from drugs and bad habits.
Those present on the occasion included BJP State President, Mr Subhash Barala, MLA Kalka, Mrs Latika Sharma and others.
