KUPWARA: The centrally sponsored scheme Indira Awaas Yojna (IAY) were aimed to benefit rural poor, unjustified execution of these schemes in North Kashmir’s frontier district Kupwara has deprived the deserving to yield the benefits.

“Locals of Block Drugmulla told Our special correspondent Wasim Majnoon Mir, that state government has failed to implement these schemes properly. The locals alleged that deserving people were not getting benefits out of these schemes”.

According to locals, in the IAY list of 2011, many officials visited our areas like Drugmulla, Hatmulla, Shahwali Muqaam and other areas and directed their subordinates to sanction the cases in our favour but we have yet to receive anything from the Government. Before three months our application has been approved by the department but now the concerned department has not paying any attention. "Locals said that the Minister and MLA told us that the amount under IAY scheme will be sanctioned soon but from last three months we are suffering and not received any installment," "they added that they have been wastage money and time for submitting and follow the case from last three months and live under open sky". Locals said that they don't have money and  could not pay commission to the concerned officials to get sanction an IAY case. Lots of people come here and apply for IAY funds, but the response of the officials is usually filled with nasal disdain, locals said.

Meanwhile, when contacted to ACD Kupwara Yaar Ali Khan, told Our Special Correspondent that we have sectioned all IAY cases except Drugmulla Block, added that will sectioned the said amount under IAY scheme to the applicants after proper investigation.
