Massive response to first flight at Adampur Airport as all the seats booked

ADAMPUR: The Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma today visited the airport to review the ongoing preparations for the event. Mr Sharma was apprised by the staff of Airport Authority of India and Spice Jet that the seats for the first flight have already been sold out. Likewise, he was informed that 90% seats for the week ahead of May 1 have also been booked.

The Deputy Commissioner was told that the flight was getting massive response by the people, who were seeking ticket in large number. Meanwhile, Mr Sharma asked the staff at the airport to ensure elaborate arrangements for making this gala event a huge success. He said that all out efforts must be made to ensure that this historic function was organised in a smooth and well planned manner.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that this airport once operational would provide air connectivity to the region with the rest of the globe. He further said that besides saving time, money and energy of the people especially the NRIs from the region, this airport would also give boost to the economic development of the region in general and Jalandhar city in particular. They said that the airport would also facilitate the NRI brethren to stay connected with their roots adding that it would also give much needed boost to medical tourism and industrial development in media capital of the state.

Prominent amongst other present on the occasion included Station Director Airport Authority of India Mr Kewal Krishan, Station incharge Spice Jet Airlines Mr Rajan Prabhakar, Naib Tehsildar Mr Pradeep Kumar and others.
