Local Bodies’ missing files: government’s ploy to destroy material evidence: AAP

July 20, 2019 07:19 PM

CHANDIGARH:  The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab, has termed the dozens of important files going missing from the Local Bodies Department’s office as deep-rooted conspiracy, saying that the missing files related to the 1144 crore Ludhiana City Centre Scam and the Mehraj Nagar Panchayat (Rampura Phul) in which CM Captain  Amarinder Singh had figured prominently.

In a statement issued from party headquarters on Saturday, Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema, has demanded a time-bound probe into the case under the watch of a sitting high court judge. He added that the missing files related to the multi-crore scam in which captain Amarinder Singh was allegedly involved directly.

Cheema has also demanded that CM Captain Amarinder Singh and newly-designated local bodies minister, Brahm Mohindra, should make public the missing files with complete details as their going missing might go against the interests of the state and its people.

On the occasion, Majha zone president of the party, Kuldip Singh Dhaliwal, said that the disappearance of the files was a ploy of the government to weaken the multi-crore Ludhiana City Centre scam and the Amritsar Improvement scam by destroying material evidences, stating that if the AAP was voted to power in the 2022 elections, it would reopen such all such  cases vital to the interests of the state and its people and review the cases in which ‘clean chit’ was given to high profile culprits.
