Industry minister Bikram Singh urges for opening IISC in Himachal Pradesh

SHIMLA: Industries Minister Bikram Singh today called on Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan at New Delhi. He urged the Union Minister for opening of India International Skill Centre (IISC) in Himachal Pradesh.

Bikram Singh said that by sanctioning of IISC, the youths of the state would be able to get more opportunities like international standard training programme for their better future.

He said the IISCs were the state-of-the-art centres equipped with lab infrastructure to deliver international benchmarked training and certification programmes. IISCs were being setup at the overseas migration pockets of the country for equipping trainees looking to migrate overseas. The IISCs would facilitate placement linkages to international countries through direct tie ups with employers or recruitment agents approved by the Ministry of External Affairs.

He urged the Union Minister to approve IISC for Himachal and issue necessary directions in this behalf to the authorities concerned.
