CHANDIGARH : Haryana Power Engineers Association has demanded that no extension in services should be given to any Director of utilities as it impacts the promotion of complete cadre of engineers.
K D Bansal President of Association said that a move has been initiated to grant yet another extension to Director HVPN and the Association opposes all such moves. The government must select the new directors from serving chief engineers immediately. The Directors must retire on completing their fixed tenure. The engineers will oppose strongly any extension to Directors.
The Association has written a letter to the CMD of both power utilities on April 5 that the Assistant engineers of Haryana Power utilities have the lowest pay scale amongst power utilities of the country. A committee has already submitted its report with its recommendations and sent to pay anomaly committee but nothing has been done so for. Moreover the increment on promotion from assistant engineer to assistant executive engineer is not being given.
The restructuring of power distribution companies has not been done despite manifold increase in work load and less recruitment against retirements. The number of posts should be created at different levels work as per work load norms. The posts of engineer in chief which were held in abeyance should be restored immediately to give relief to senior engineers.
The association has sought an urgent meeting to discuss all these issues.
