CHANDIGARH : Haryana Power Engineers Association (HPEA) has strongly condemned the policy of giving current duty charge to senior engineers though regular posting orders can be issued against vacant posts. Even at the level of chief engineer current duty charge has been given , which is not desirable.
The Association had a meeting with CMD of power utilities and discussed their long pending demands. KD Bansal President of Association said that their main demand is regarding removing the anomalies in pay scales of assistant engineers and grant of increment on promotion as assistant executive engineer. The committee report regarding this needs to be implemented immediately. CMD assured that this will be put up to board of directors for further action.
The Association demanded the reinstatement of all the suspended engineers at the earliest. The charge sheets issued to various officers should be disposed of within a fixed time frame after the receipt of reply of the concerned officer. The decision on engineers involved in alleged pillar box scam shall be taken after receipt of enquiry report.
The grant of pay scale of engineer – in chief to the directors should be given as posts of engineer-in-chief are not existing in utilities.
CMD assured that restructuring of engineers cadre will be done after the norms for various posts are finalized by the Board of Directors after the completion of present recruitment process of engineers.
