CHANDIGAFRH: The role of Haryan Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has came under cloud after his soft paddling of dera Sacha Sauda episode and allowing lakhs of dera followers to enter Panchkula on the day of judgement by CBI court in a rape case registered against dera head Gurmeet Ram Raheem Singh.
Manohar Lal Khattar a former aide of Prime Minister Nareder Modi had failed to handle the situation rather he was found supporting the miscreants to brow beat the judicairy. His officers the home secreatry and DGP who appeared in the Hich Court also misled the judges on arrangements made for the judgement day. The CBI court had held Gurmeet Ram Raheem Singh guilty of rape which led to violence by his followers. Home secretary and DGP B.S.Sandhu had assured the High Court that they had made fool proof arrangements to contain the violence.
The High Court bench had orderd that dera chief should issue an appeal to his followers to return to their homes. The Haryana officials managed the appeal but told the High Court that appeal could'ntg reach the followers due to ban on internet services. The fact is that all followers had knowledge of appeal but they were sent to Panchkula under pre-planned strategy. Not even a sigle follower of dera accepted the appeal of their head. The motive was clear that dera followers had came to Panchkula with the aim of spreading violence of deta head is convicted by CBI court. The High Court was given a different picture. The Haryana BJP leaders even blamed Punjab for sending dera followers to Panchkula.
Punjab and Haryana High Court seemed to haver smelled the intentions of Khattar government and issue specific orders to remove the dera followers from Panchkula before 10 AM today(Friday). The DGP however failed to act on orders of High Court. It is mentioned that High Court had on Thursday commented that they will dismiss DGP if he failes to handle the situation. It was expected that DGP would act firmly against the miscreants but he dint act beyond lip service.
It is believed that Khattar and his team of officers were hopefull that judiciary may not convict dera head in the light of lakhs of supporters camping in Panchkula. It was clear attempt to intimidate judiciary. But thanks to High Court, the conspiracy of Khattar and dera chief was foiled. Dera ehad was convicted by the CBI court and now the ball is in High Court which will take up the case tomorrow for further hearing.
