Contingent of boys and girls from Dadra and Nagar Haveili visiting Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH :A contingent comprising 40 boys and girls between the age group of 15 to 17 age will be visiting Chandigarh from February 27 to March 3 under the inter state youth exchange programme—Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.
Revealing this here Mr Bikram Rana, State Liaison Officer, NSS Cell, Chandigarh said that under the programme every State and union territory in the country are paired with another state/UT for a year during which they would carry out a structured engagement with one another in the field of language, literature, cuisine, festivals, cultural events, tourism etc. Chandigarh is paired with Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
He said a letter from the Administration of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Department of Women and Child Development been received by his office. He further said that earlier the programme was given to cultural affairs department of Chandigarh but this time it has been given to education department. The education department has nominated him as nodal officer of the programme.
Mr Rana further said that the contingent would also visit the Snehlaya, Sector 10 Museum and other important places. The Department of Women and Child Development Chandigarh has also arranges its visit to senior officers of UT Administration. The education department would also facilitate their visit to Pinjore Garden.
The visit has been arranged by the State Child Protection Society of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. He has also sought assistant of the Harjinder Kuar, Chairperson,Chandigarh Child Protection Society and it was also decided to celebrate Holi festival with the visitors on March 2.
Mr Rana said the Administration was committed to carry forward the missionary programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with much enthusiasm. He said aimed at celebrating the unity in diversity, it has been enhancing mutual understanding and bonding between prople of diverse culture, language and tradition living in different parts of the country.
The letter states the expenditure on TA/DA, food and other things of this exposure visit will be borne by the ICPS, Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The accommodation at Panchayat Bhawan and local transport will be arranged by Chandigarh free of cost. EOM
