Chandan Negi, Dr. Baldev Badhan honoured with Kewal Vig Award-2017

JALANDHAR : Noted Punjabi Novelist Smt. Chandan Negi honoured with ‘Kewal Vig Award’ of the year 2017 for their dedicated, devoted and sincere contributions in the sphere of Punjabi Novels as Best Novelist and Dr. Baldev Singh Badhan, who penned down more than 200 Books in Punjabi literature, as Best Writer respectively.
In a press release, Jatinder Mohan Vig, Chairman of Kewal Vig Foundation said that Kewal Vig Memorial Award was instituted since 1994, in the memory of late Kewal Vig, founder editor of Punjabi magazine ‘Janta Sansar’. On every death anniversary of Late Mr. Kewal Vig, these awards presented. The presentation ceremony of this year was at K.L. Saigal Memorial Hall, Opp. T.V. Centre, Jalandhar City. It is mentioned that 55 personalities of Literature had already been receipents of this award so far.
Vetran Smt. Chandan Negi is well known story writer as well as Novelist who has brought the Punjabi Worldwidely by her books. ‘Dogri-Punjabi’ Shabad Kosh is also prepared by her. Dr. Baldev Singh Badhan who is committed to uplift the Punjabi Language, Culture, Literature, his so many books are being translated in to other languages. Both are presented citations, momentos and shawls for their exemplary contributions in the function.
Dr. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh I.P.S. (I.G. ATS, Punjab) was the Chief Guest Sh. Pawan Harchandpuri, Gen. Sec. Kendri Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (Sekhon), Sh. Rajinder Singh, D.C.P. Jalandhar were the special Guests of Honour and Function was presided over by Dr. Chander Shekhar (IPS) Former D.G.P. Punjab.
