Remove existing pay anomolies - Haryana power engineers

PANIPAT: Haryana Power Engineers Association urged the government to remove the anomalies in the pay scales of Assistant Engineers and Assistant Executive Engineers before putting them in the new pay scales and decisions of Board of Directors should be final.

The executive committee of Haryana Power Engineers Association in its meeting held at Panipat and was addressed by K D Bansal President and K K Malik General Secretary. The executive members of HPGCL Engineers Association also participated in the discussion.

The move to put both the Discoms under control of the Bureau of Public Enterprises which is dominated by State bureaucracy. With such experimentation and sidelining of engineers the working of Discoms cannot improve while the engineers problems will go from bad to worse.

The executive urged the power utilities management to stop the yet another enquiry in to the so called pillar box scam. The power utility has already conducted three enquiries in this case and there is no point to push another enquiry. Even the legal remembrance of utility in his advice dated January 31 d the regulations regarding punishment and appeal to employees do not envisage de nova or second enquiry.

it is well known that same mistake was committed by all individuals at the behest of top management and instead of taking real culprits to task the management is indulging in one inquiry after another against the engineers who are being made scapegoats.

The executive oppose the extension to and Director after the date of superannuation .It was urged that government should appoint Directors with fixed tenure well before their retirement.

It was decided that HPGCL Engineers association will join hands with Haryana power Engineers association to fight with the management on the common problems being faced by the engineers of all the four utilities.

It was also suggested that the number of vacancies at the level of assistant engineers are increasing as there is no regular recruitment the management should increase the quota of junior engineers fopr the post of assistant engineers.

It was decided to hold protest meeting at Panchkula to high light the grievences of the engineers.
