Punjab power minister orders to set up monitoring cell and auto trip system

PHAGWARA: Keeping in view of the reports increasing incidents of FIRE in the fields or other places most of them due to short circuit supply in power lines, now Punjab Power & Irrigation Minister Rana Gurjit Singh while taking swift action has instructed PSPCL Chairman and Principal Secretary to immediately set up a state-level “Monitoring Cell” which will work round the clock with the continuous co-ordination with Weather Department and to introduce “Auto Trip” system at a fixed and required “Wind Velocity” to prevent much more loss of the people.

Talking to this correspondent at the residence of PPCC General Secretary Harjit Singh Parmar at Phagwara on Sunday evening, Rana said that Solid Cables would soon be replaced with old cables in all towns of the state to provide uninterrupted power supply and to prevent SPARKINGS in power lines. Replying a question about large scale scam in replacing wires during ten years rule of Badal Government, He said that despite irregularities, State Government will not work in vindictive way but all scams would soon be exposed. He said the efforts are being made to minimize losses to 3% which could save minimum Rs 300 Crores annually.

Rana Gurjit who has also portfolio of Irrigation Department has announced to restore dignity and use of the all canals through out the state by releasing water in all canals to provide water to the farmers. Replying a question about increasing illegal encroachments on irrigation land of Canals, Irrigation Minister quipped and said no illegal encroachments would be tolerated at any cost. He instructed the senior officials of Irrigation Department to remove all encroachments on canals and book the encroachers. Rana discussed several important issues with HS Parmar and Sukhjit Parmar in the presence of Senior Congress Leader Inder Duggal. Rana disclosed that he has summoned a high level meeting of high officials of hi departments on Tuesday to provide accountable, honest and transparent administration. He strongly condemned the dictatorial administration of Badals but claimed that Captain Government will work as “People-Friendly Government” to facilitate the residents at all stages. He reiterated that Government will provide cheaper electricity to the people and to sell surplus electricity to the countries like Pakistan and Nepal.
