Punjab Lottery Sawan Bumper changed life of Senior Nursing Officer of PGI

CHANDIGARH: Can you imagine, someone goes to buy construction material and brings home a fortune! Yes, sometimes it happens.

Exactly, the same happened in the life of Kharar resident George Masih and his wife Suman Priya, who have been working as Senior Nursing Officers at the PGI, Chandigarh.

George Masih said that they are constructing a house at his native village Dargabad in Gurdaspur district and they went to Kotli Surat Malhi to buy some construction material and there were a hawker, who was selling the tickets of Punjab State Sawan Bumper-2019. On the insistence of his wife and the hawker's continued requests, he had bought two tickets and gave them to her.

Finally, lady luck smiled, Suman Priya won the first prize of Rs. 1.5 crore. George Masih said that usually, he bought lottery tickets for his Chandigarh-based friends and his senior officials as lottery was banned there. But he had never bought lottery ticket for himself.

Talking about the future planning, the couple said that they are fed up of traffic congestion on the tricity roads as they have to struggle everyday to reach on time at job. So they have decided to use the prize money to buy a good house nearby their working station. Notably, currently the lucky couple are residing in Mata Gujri Enclave, Kharar. They would save the remaining amount for higher studies of their two sons, the couple added.
