Hired 3 Months Back Servants Steal Rs.5 lakh Gold

PANCHKULA: A man and his wife hired as domestic help around  three months back alegedly  stole Rs 5 lakh and gold jewellery from the house of their employer while she was out shopping in sector 7 on Tuesday evening.

The couple identified as Raju and his wife  maya, both hailing from nepal, were staying in the third floor of the house belonging to Anuradha Aggarwal,38.She said she had stepped out to buy some goods after locking her house o the ground floor around  7:30pm. Her son chirag and daughter Ashima were studying on the first foor.

When Anuradha returned an hour later,she found the lockat the main entrance broken.Inside the room,Her Almirah’s lock was smashed too. From her locker  Rs5 lakh was missing .She said the thieves had also taken away a gold chain and a gold ring from her dressing room . Anuradha  called up her husband and narrated theincident to him .both lodged a complaint with the police. Anurada said she did not find her servants in the house. When police sought their details, Anuradha replied that shehad hired them three  month back and only knew that both were from nepal she did not have their complete address.”We have doubt on  the couple as they are missing since the incident took places,” said Anuradha.

Police registered a case under sections 381 (theft by clerk or servant of property in possession of master) of the IPS at the sector 5 police station .Assistant sub-inspector Karnail singh, the investigating officer, said they have begun investigation.
