CHANDIGARH: Aman Arora, AAP MLA from Sunam on Wednesday wrote a letter to the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh requesting him to fulfill his promose by releasing funds worth 2.28 Crores for the construction of Shaheed Udham Singh Memorial at Sunam. In his letter, Arora said, that as Shaheed Udham Singh had sacrificed his life for the country , so his sacrifice should be respected by the Govt. now and a memorial be built immediately as a mark of homage
Arora said that it is the third time that martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh is approaching since the formation of Congress govt. in state but every time the Ministers and Chief Minister himself has just done lip service by making mere announcements time and again of release of funds for the memorial. He said that despite repeated announcements, it is painful that no work has started on the memorial site.
Arora further cautioned the state govt. that if it fails to start the construction of the memorial before 31st July , then the CM or any other Minister, ceases the right to pay homage to the mrtyr and should desist themselves from making further false announcements and rub salt on the wounds of lacs of admirers of Shaheed Udham Singh, and should avoid making a mockery of the supreme sacrifice of the martyr.
