CHANDIGARH: Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday submitted a complaint with EC to review and stay further action on notification issued by government to give benefit to Resort owned by Badals. AAP delegation under guidance of Adv. Dinesh Chaddha said that Just before imposition of Model Code of Conduct in Punjab on January 3,2017, Punjab Government Department of Housing and Urban Development issued a notification to acquire land more than 100 acres for construction of a 200 feet wide road PR7 in new Chandigarh .

Adv. Chaddha said that the road will connect Sukhvilas Resort Pallanpur ,owned by Badals family ,with Chandigarh International Airport. It is necessary to mention here that for New Chandigarh many projects were in pipeline. Even Social Impact Assessment was prepared for many projects.

Adv. Chaddha said that department instead of proceeding on any other project, only picked this project and issued notification for this project, which is against the public interest and just for benefit of Badals family .More over this acquisition of land for benefit of Badals family will also affect lives of 197 farmers’ families, whose land will be acquired for this project.

It is a wrong practice to give personal benefit to leaders of ruling party few hours before imposition of Model Code of Conduct .He said that please EC must direct the Department of Housing and Urban Planning to stay any further action on this notification.
