Congress government fails in preventing illegal mining and maintaining law & order in Punjab

CHANDIGARH: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today condemned the Congress government for its failure in preventing the menace of illegal mining and maintaining law and order in the state, even as it warned that if state government fails to implement the mining policy in letter and spirit in next few days, the SAD would ask the central government to intervene and save the environment of Punjab.

 The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today condemned the attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Amarjit Singh Sandoa when he visited a village in Nurpur Bedi area, but demanded a judicial inquiry to understand the reason for the attack as videographic evidence from the site revealed that the attackers were AAP supporters who were protesting against forced extortions from the AAP legislator.

SAD deputes core committee members for 26th June protest at districts across state

CHANDIGARH: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has deputed the core committee members to lead mass protests in districts across the state on 26th June to force the Congress government to cut down on its share of taxes on petrol and diesel to provide the much needed relief to the common man. The SAD cadre led by a core committee member will give a memorandum to the deputy commissioners in each district. The SAD president S. Sukhbir Singh Badal has assigned duties to all the core committee members in this regard.
