Preeti to lead India in Australian Hockey League (Women)

Hockey India today announced an 18-member Indian women’s team to participate in the Australian Hockey League 2017 (Women) which starts on September 28.The team will be captained by forward Preeti Dubey while Udita will shoulder the responsibility of vice-captain.

Gagandeep selected for Richard G Luger Excellence in Public Servic Series

Indian-born Gagandeep Kaur has been selected as a member of 28th class of the Richard G Luger Excellence in Public Servic Series. It is an excellent one year political leadership development programme started in 1990 to increase participation of inspiring women in pubic life. To date, over 469 women in 27 classes have been trained.

In an attempt to enhance the technical and competitive skills of students, Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Lyallpur Khalsa College organized Quiz and Online Test Competitions in which 254 students from various academic disciplines like Computer Science, Journalism & Mass Communication, Multimedia and Printing Technology tested their skills in basics of Computer Science.

KU Hocky Academy's Five More Players Selected For National Camp

AMRITSAR: At least five women players from Hockey Academy at local Khalsa University under the aegis of Khalsa College Charitable Society were today selected for the national camp to be held at Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) ahead of Hockey Test Match later this year in Australia. In total 28 women hockey players were selected from all over the country for the camp in which six are from of this local academy.

Punjabi student from Jalandhar stabbed to death in USA

WASHINGTON: A 22-year-old software engineering student from Jalandhar in Punjab, was stabbed to death in his taxi allegedly by an American student who was upset over not getting admission into a university.

 Two day workshop on Entrepreneurship was inaugurated at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya in collaboration with Makeintern CARPE DIEM IIM, Calcutta. The resource person of the two-day workshop is Mr. Kartik Mehta, Certified Entrepreneurship, and Soft Skill Mentor. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that HMV is the only college of this region to hold such innovative workshops for the students as Innovation is the keyword at HMV. She said that we cannot change our past and future is always uncertain. So, we should work for the present, which is in our hands. She said that women empowerment is related to empowered ideology. She said that the vision of HMV is to turn signatures of the students into autographs by making them empowered.

AAP Punjab releases the List Of District Presidents, Corporation Presidents & Spokespersons

CHANDIGARH: Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday announced the names of its District Presidents, Corporation Presidents and Spokespersons in Punjab. Aam Aadmi Party state co-president Aman Arora, who was given the responsibility of restructuring the party in state, released the list . Arora said that feedback, which was received from all quarters from within the party, was welcomed and thoroughly examined besides discussion and deliberations with state party leaders and that the list carries the consent of state party president Bhagwant Mann. He said that feedback collected from the workers gathered during his state wide tour ‘AAP Apniya Naal’ helped a lot in making these appointments.
