A delegation of the National Scheduled Castes Alliance today met with the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore at the Punjab Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh. Led by Paramjit Singh Kainth, President of the Alliance along with Palwinder Kaur Haryau, President of the Women wing of the alliance, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi, Secretary NSCA and Balwinder Singh Kumbrah met the Hon’ble Governor at his residence. Issue for the meeting was the rising tide of atrocities and injustices met upon the Scheduled Castes community in Punjab along with the lapse in the implementation of various schemes and policies aimed at benefitting the community.

SAD deputes core committee members for 26th June protest at districts across state

CHANDIGARH: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has deputed the core committee members to lead mass protests in districts across the state on 26th June to force the Congress government to cut down on its share of taxes on petrol and diesel to provide the much needed relief to the common man. The SAD cadre led by a core committee member will give a memorandum to the deputy commissioners in each district. The SAD president S. Sukhbir Singh Badal has assigned duties to all the core committee members in this regard.
