CGC Jhanjeri Boys & Girls Shine in PTU's Badminton Tournaments

MOHALI: The Boys as well as the Girls teams of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri made their mark in Punjab Technical University's Inter College Badminton Tournaments by winning Silver Medals. The Boys Team had a tougher competition as the number of participating teams was a whooping 19, whereas the number of Girls Teams was only 09.

81 faculty members honoured on the occasion of Teachers’ Day at CGC Landran

MOHALI: Paying rich tribute to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran celebrated Teachers’ Day by felicitating 81 faculty members for their rich contribution in diversified field of academics. 22 teachers were awarded the ‘Best Teacher Award’ citations, while 59 were honoured with ‘Certificates of Excellence’ in teaching learning process and their valuable contribution in research and innovation.

Innovative Workshop on Miniature Satellite & Space Communication organised at CGC Landran

A special workshop aimed at introducing students to concepts of Miniature Satellite and Space Communication was organised by the department of Mechanical Engineering, Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran in association with Delhi-based Space Development Nexus (SDNx). More than 100 students participated in the innovative workshop and learnt the basics of designing a mini satellite and its usage with respect to detecting any atmospheric variations.

CGCians make it to the final round of international Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition

Team M3N consisting of four, third year Mechanical Engineering students Naman, Mohd Jafar, Mrityunjaya and Mohit, from Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran have qualified for the final round of global level Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition 2018 for creating a unique multilingual mobile application (app.) named ‘DocPat Helper. The competition is one of the activities that belong to the UNESCO Global Action Programme on Education for Sustainable Development. It recognizes innovative ideas and projects from young entrepreneurs around the world that have a positive societal impact and which champion and implement one or more of UNDP’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

CGC Landran signs MoUs with Universities from USA and Belgium

CHANDIGARH: To enhance its students’ international exposure and provide them broader avenues for honing their academic and research skills, Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with PXL University College, Belgium and CBU, Tennessee, USA.

CGC Landran pays rich tribute to Kargil Martyrs

Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran organised an event to celebrate the 19th anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas, commemorating the memory of bravehearts of the Kargil war. Air Marshal Vinod Patney (SYSM, PVSM, AVSM, VrC) was the Chief guest on the occasion. Other distinguished guests gracing the event included Brig. (retd) Khushal Thakur, Gen. (retd) Trilochan Singh, Director CIMH, Col. Praveen Kumar (VrC), Lt. Ritu (Army Air Defence) and Mr Ranjit Bajaj (Minerva Academy). The event steeped in patriotic fervour, saw enthusiastic participation from CGC students.

New academic session commences at CGC Landran

CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran has been ranked A++ by ‘Chronicle 7th All India Engineering Survey.’ CGC Landran was adjudged on parameters including the institution’s Placement record, Industry Interface, Academic Excellence, quality of students & faculty and infrastructure. Conducted in three stages, the survey covered 16 states and 600-plus engineering colleges across the country.

Campus placements for B.Ed Students at CGC Landran

 B.Ed passouts from Chandigarh College of Education, CGC Landran, have reinforced the institution’s perception as a top notch, quality teacher training education provider, by getting placed in premium educational institutions. St. Joseph’s, Doon International School, Guru Harkrishan Model School, Oakridge International School, The British School are some of the recruiters which have hired CGC students. CGC Landran is the only college in the region offering campus placements to B.Ed degree holders.

AICTE to make teacher training course mandatory from next year

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has new reforms in the pipeline to make technical education more student-centric, improve the quality of teaching and enhance the competitiveness of India’s technical manpower. This was shared by Dr. R.K Soni, Director and Regional Officer, NWRO-AICTE, in his inaugural address at a three-day, AICTE sponsored Faculty Development Programme (FDP) which commenced at Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran. Over 200 educators from technical institutions from across the state are participating in this FDP.

Three Mechanical Engineering students from Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran have invented a biometric based anti-theft vehicle security system which would allow car owners to lock/unlock their vehicles using fingerprints.

CGC Landran wins National Employability Award

Winning yet another accolade Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran has made it to the list of top ten per cent technical education institutions from Punjab, in terms of employability quotient of its students. Leading Global job skills credentialing agency Aspiring Minds has awarded CGC Landran with National Employability Award 2019 on the basis of scores of CGC’s final year (2019 batch) students on AMCAT, India’s largest employability test. AMCAT is a computer adaptive test which measures job applicants on critical areas like communication skills, logical reasoning, quantitative skills and job specific domain skills thus helping recruiters identify the suitability of a candidate. 700+ companies including Accenture, Snapdeal, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, ITC etc, use it as a compulsory testing mechanism for entry level roles relying on AMCAT scores during hiring processes.

Four-day FDP commences at CGC Landran

A four-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) has begun at Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran. Organised by department of Computer Science & Engineering, CGC Landran in partnership with IBM, the programme seeks to train the participating faculty on the latest trends in Descriptive Analytics using IBM Cognos. The programme is a part of the institution’s understanding with IBM further to which, the latter would conduct training sessions for the former’s faculty members.

CGC Landran among top 50 in Times Private Engineering Institute Rankings 2018

MOHALI: Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran has featured among the top 50 institutions in Times Top 100 Private Engineering Institute rankings 2018. Chandigarh Engineering College, CGC Landran is also among the top ten private engineering colleges in the northern region and the only one in Punjab, basis the same ranking. The institution was judged on the basis of placements, infrastructure, faculty resource, research orientation, exchange programmes and global exposure provided to students in addition to a host of others.

CGC Landran teams qualify to compete in the final round of CanSat 2018 Global Aerospace Competition

MOHALI: Two teams from Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran have secured the 2nd and 5th rank, globally, in the second round of NASA sponsored global design-build-launch competition CanSat-2018. Team INCASSABLE (2nd Rank) and team INFINITY (5th Rank) comprising students of Mechanical engineering and Electronics & Communication engineering streams will now be competing with 40 other teams from across the globe in the third and final round of CanSat 2018 scheduled to be held at Stephenville Texas, USA from June 08, 2018 to June 10, 2018.
