International Day of Yoga was celebrated across the state in all district head quarter with full enthusiasm. ‘Yoga improves the health and many ailments can be prevented by adopting Yoga in our daily life. Yoga keeps body and mind healthy. This is a free gift of India to world.’ It was the motivational message delivered by Mr. Brahm Mohindra on the occasion of International Day of Yoga while exhorting people to adopt Yoga as a daily way of routine.

Citizens be trained to know nutritious value & adulteration of food items: Brahm Mohindra

Citizen of Punjab would now be trained to know the nutritious values of food items by conducting simple tests at home. They will also get to know about the adulteration in food items. A comprehensive plan to train the citizen of state under Tandarust Punjab Mission has been chalked out by the Health and Family Welfare Department. All this will be done on each Friday which would be celebrated as ‘Food Awareness Day’.

Punjab crosses set target under voluntary blood donation campaign

On the occasion of ‘World Blood Donors Day’, the Health & Family Welfare Minister Punjab Mr. Brahm Mohindra disclosed that the Punjab has successfully surpassed the set target of blood donation and achieved 124 per cent of the set target. He said that under the Punjab Blood Transfusion Council, a target has set to collect 1,80,000 units of blood in the state. In order to achieve the target, health department has commenced the campaign and successfully collected the 2 lakh 24 thousand 158 units under voluntary blood donation campaign with the close coordination of the NGOs, voluntary blood donors and other social organizations.

39 lakhs children vaccinated in 28 days of MR Campaign in Punjab

Despite all the initial hiccups, the MR vaccination campaign has been marching forward to achieve its target. The success of this campaign can be gauged from the fact that, in 28 days of its launching around 39 lacs children have been administered the MR vaccine.

Brahm Monindra launches state level Measles Rubella vaccination campaign from Faridkot

The Punjab Government with a view to eliminate Measles and Rubella today stated the State Level Measles Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign from Fridkot. Health and Family Welfare Minister while rolling out the campaign said that during this campaign all children ranging from the age of 9 months to less than 15 years will be vaccinated regardless of previous vaccination with MR/MMR or history of measles/rubella like illness. He informed that an estimated 73 lac 50 thousand and 382 children will be vaccinated in the campaign. He was addressing the mammoth rally at Baba Farid School after the launching of MR Vaccination Campaign.

Department of Health & Family Welfare, Punjab is going to conduct Measles Rubella Vaccination campaign from 1st May 2018 as part of a National strategy to eliminate Measles and control Rubella in the country. State Level Media sensitization workshop regarding MR Campaign is held at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh. Health Minister of Punjab Shri Brahm Mohindra stated that said that all children aged 9 months to less than 15 years will be vaccinated regardless of previous vaccination with MR/MMR or history of measles/rubella like illness. He informed that an estimated 75 lakh children will be vaccinated in the campaign over a period of 4-6 weeks. The vaccination will first be conducted in schools and later in community through outreach sessions.
