JALANDHAR: Student Welfare Association of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar celebrated Lohri in a unique way with the kids of an orphanage of Jalandhar.  The college spread smiles on the lovely faces of young buds living in the orphanage.

Lohri Celebrated at Khalsa Institutions

The festival of Lohri was today celebrated with fervour at Khalsa College Amritsar (KCA), Khalsa College of Education (KCE) and other educational institutions here. The message of honouring the girl child was highlighted at Khalsa College as the girls broke into dance and singing of the folk.

“Dhiyan Di Lohri” celebrated at Aryans

Dhiyan Di Lohri” (Lohri of daughters) by promoting “save the girl child” with fun-filled cultural activities, energetic and traditional performances was celebrated in a function held recently. Girl children participated with their mothers. The cake cutting ceremony was also held for those girl children whose birthdays fall in the month of January. Sweets, gifts & other eatables were also distributed. Dance performances presented by the children were the main attraction of the function.

Cultural fiesta on Lohri at Rayat Bahra

Lohri was celebrated at the Rayat Bahra Patiala Campus with gay abandon as the students organised a rich cultural programme. They danced in true festive spirit around a bonfire to the beat of drums with the girls performing gidha while the boys performed bhangra.
