CHANDIGARH: Reacting to Union Minister Harsimrat Badal's demand for an inquiry from the Central Agency into the alleged seed scam, the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee leaders today in a scathing attack on the Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, said that if Harsimrat is genuinely wishes well for Punjab and Punjabis, She should first reopen the closed probe into her brother Bikram Majithia's alleged involvement in drug Peddling case, So that the face of those who ruined the youth of Punjab can be exposed.
In a joint press statement issued from the party headquarters here today, Congress MLAs Darshan Singh Brar, Barindermeet Singh Pahra, Kulbir Singh Zira, Ravinder Singh Awla, Davinder Singh Ghubaya (all MLAs) and Pritam Singh Kotbhai said that perhaps Harsimrat Badal suffers from selective amnesia because that's why she is seeking an inquiry from the central agency into the alleged seed scam but has forgotten that she had used her influence to close the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe into the drug peddling case against her brother Bikram Majithia.
Highlighting Harsimrat's double standards, the Congress leaders said that despite being a Union Minister, Harsimrat has not brought a single penny worth development centric projects in the state for the last six years.
On the contrary, Harsimrat using her clout as the Union Minister stopped EDs probe against her brother and played a major role in central government's every decision against Punjab.
The Congress leaders said that the Badal-Majithia family beating about the bush and making baseless allegations against the Congress leaders on a daily basis just to restore lost political prestige of the SAD in general and Badal family in particular. They said that resorting to such cheap gimmickry would not help Akali Dal restore its lost base. They said that the people of Punjab are well aware of the lies and deceptions being churned out by the SAD which should be called 'Badal family private limited' and would not fall prey to the everyday package of lies.
