CHANDIGARH: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Sangrur Member of Parliament (MP) Bhagwant Mann, Leader of the Opposition, Harpal Singh Cheema, senior leaders Aman Arora (MLA) and Harchand Singh Barsat have described the death of ‘dera premi’ Mohinder Paul Bittu facing charges of sacrilegious act of pilfering sacred Sri Guru Granth Sahib as deep conspiracy. They have demanded a time-bound probe into the mysterious ‘death’ of the accused in Nabha jail by a judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court. Meanwhile, they have also appealed to the people of Punjab to help maintain peace and mutually harmony in the state.

The AAP leaders in a joint statement issued from party headquarters in Chandigarh on Monday, said the alleged ‘murder’ of the key accused in the Nabha jail, which is considered to be safest among the jails in the state, was not a normal happening. They alleged that it was all a plain ploy of the government to eliminate the material evidence to the incidents of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib, stating that the law and machinery had gone for a toss in the state turning it a total ‘jungle raaj’.

AAP leaders added that said that sacrilegious religious incidents had been associated with the religious sentiments of teeming millions of the people, stating that they were awaiting faster decision into the cases pending for a pretty long time now to bring those found guilty to justice.

They lamented that like its predecessor, the Amarinder Singh Government was too dragging its feet from the issue involving religious sentiments of the entire ‘sangat’.   They accused the state government delaying the process of delivery of justice by way of setting up of commissions after commission to to delay the wheel of justice.

The Aam Aadmi Party has demanded a time-bound inquiry by a sitting judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to nail the culprits behind the incident of sacrilege as the ruling government was trying to protect the culprits by dismantling clinching evidences, as in the  cases of incident of desecration Sri Guru Granth where high and mighty were involved.
