EPF scam - UP Power employees demands arrest of Ex CMD

LUCKNOW:Vidhyut Karamchari Syankut Sangharsh Samiti has demanded the suspension of ex CMD of UPPCL for his involvement in the provident fund scam and further decided to observe two days work boycott on November 18 and 19.

On a call given by Vidhyut Karamchari Syankut Sangharsh Samiti a large number of employees and their families participated in the protest rally  today from Hydel field hostel to Shakti Bhawan.

 After the rally the protest meeting demanded that UP government should guarantee the payment of provident fund to employees and should arrest the ex CMD of UPPCL. The employees of other state government offices also participated in the rally.

The employee leaders demanded that government should issue white paper on the investment made by the trust in various unlisted companies .The trust has placed employee’s pension funds in three housing companies violating the norms for investment. The trust invested Rs. 4122 crore in DHFL between March 2017 and December 2018.

Shailendra Dubey  coordinator   of the Samiti  said that the employees’ pension fund be retrieved by the government as it is the responsibility  of the  government to pay defaulted amount  and top officials who were directly or indirectly  responsible for the present mess should be brought to book.
