PU Prof. becomes member of National Academy of Medical Sciences

CHANDIGARH: Dr. Sangeeta Pilkhwal Sah working as Assistant Professor (Physiology) in University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh has been elected as a Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India), in recognition of her significant contribution for the advancement of Medical Sciences.

She has been actively involved in organisation of and participation in, continuing professional development programmes, laboratory training workshops, aimed at professional enhancement. Moreover she has contributed to achievement of national health goals by participating in relevant National Programmes.

Her scientific contribution is supported by research papers (259 citations) in peer reviewed international journals, and her present research work focuses on various pathologies associated with metabolic syndrome, funded by UGC, New Delhi.

In year 2015, Dr. Sangeeta was conferred with  life membership of the National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), another very prestigious recognition. She had received  Summer Research Fellowship by “Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research", Young Scientist Award by Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology and "Rashtriya Gaurav Award" by the India International Friendship Society, Delhi in the past
