Partial load crash in Punjab due to storm

PATIALA: The power demand in Punjab partially crashed after thunder storm in Amritsar and surrounding areas a number of transmission lines has tripped  in the area.. At least  One 132KV tower has been uprooted.

The  maximum power power demand  in the day was  11712  MW in the afternoon . The power demand dropped  by 1000 MW every half hour after 4PM when it was about 10300 MW . By 5 Pm it has come down to around 7100 Mw and state was under drawing its scheduled   drawl by more than 2300 MW at high frequency when over drawl by any state is free. By evening  at 7PM it has come down to less than  6000 MW.

The load at all the thermal units and private sector units was reduced. The  three units at Ropar thermal and three units at Lehra Mohabatt  thermal  are running at around  160 MW each. Two units each of Rajpura thermal and   Talwandi Sabo are generating 300 MW each.
