Khalsa College Professor gets Best Teacher Award

AMRITSAR: Dr.  Jaswinder Singh,  Assistant Professor, Department of Geology, Khalsa College, Amritsar  has been conferred  with the the prestigious ‘Dr. Roshan Lal Agarwal Best Science Teacher’ award by the Punjab Academy of Sciences , Patiala.

The awardwhich carries Rs.11,000 in cash, gold medal and citation, is given for the popularization of the subject of Science through teaching and to encourage research. Principal Dr. Mehal Singh meanwhile felicitated Dr. Jaswinder on his spectacular achievement and said such awards encourage other teachers of the College to actively take part in the field of Research.

The award he said will be given on the occasion of 21st Punjab Science Congress which is to be held in Ludhiana next month. More than 42 Research papers of Dr. Jaswinder Singh have been published in international journals and he has also been successful in  completing a research project of the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi  worth Rs. 27 Lakh recently Apart from this, he has also been honored with Germany's Alexander Humbold Fellowship.  This is indeed a moment of pride for the college, said Principal.
