Investigating Police Officers of Patiala sensitized about the MACT cases by the Judges

PATIALA: In compliance with the orders passed by Hon'ble the Supreme Court in SLP (Civil) Nos. 11801-11804 of 2005 High Court Ref. FAO Nos. 4845, 4846,4847 and 4848 of 2003 titled as Jai Parkash Vs. M/s National Insurance Co. & Ors, today (18.05.2017) Mr. Ravdeep Singh Hundal, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Patiala cum Presiding Officer, Motor Accident Claim Tribunal, Patiala and Mr.Ashish Kumar Bansal, Learned CJM cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala sensitized the Investigating Officers of District Patiala.

In the said programme Mr. Hundal and Bansal told the Officers about their duties on receipt of Information, preparation of Detailed Accidental Report, how to submit the DAR in concerned MACT.

On this occasion Mr.Bansal told on behalf of the said judgment that this procedure is being followed by the Insurance Companies in Delhi by way of a Scheme called "Claim Tribunal Agreed Procedure" and the Tribunal as well as the Legal Service Authority are taking effective steps to implement the said procedure, which is being carried out in the National Capital Territory in Delhi. Since this procedure has been successful in Delhi it can be extended on pan India basis.

In the said workshop Mr. S.Bupathi, Senior Superintendent of Police told that all necessary help in form of Proformas, references etc. will be provided shortly. Mr. Bansal told the officers if they face any problem in filling the case , they may contact the office of Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala or Toll Free no. 1968. On this occasion Ms. Kamandeep kaur, IPC(Traffic Incharge), Sh. B.S.Virk, SP; DSPs; Investing Officers, Munshis were present.
