Haryana engineers and workers oppose Electricity Bill

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Power Engineers Association along with workers unions today held protest rally at Panchkula against the proposed Electricity Amendment Bill 2014 and failure of power utilities in settling the long pending agreed demands .
The rally at Panchkula was addressed by K D bansal President K K Malik General secretary of HPEA,Naresh General secretary Devender Hooda President of APHC, Subhash Lamba General Secretary SKS and Sumit of Diploma Engineers.

The Association has addressed a memorandum On behalf of National Co-ordination Committee of Electricity Employees & engineers (NCCOEEE) to Prime Minister with copy to Chief Minister conveying their apprehensions regarding Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2014.
K D Bansal President of Association said that the object of the proposed bill is to create avenue of making business in power sector without any investment. Splitting of distribution business into carriage and content created such scope of business with utilization of network set up by public exchequer. In another way the method is cost to public for profit of private business community.
K K Malik General Secretary said that UHBVN/DHBVN management has not resolved the pay anomaly in the pay scales of Assistant Engineers / Assistant Executive Engineers despite assurances given a number of times.
The Association has demanded a transparent transfer and posting policy where posting of engineers should be computerized after taking option of engineers. All the engineers should be covered without any exception.
‘The joint rally with workers resolved to intensify struggle with massive Parliament Rally at Delhi on 3rd April, 2018 against the Electricity (Amendment) Bill.
