MUMBAI: There are very few honeymoon destinations that can match up to the exotic and magical quality of Bali, with its soothing vistas, towering volcanoes and dense jungles. And when this natural beauty meets a rich culture and lively nightlife, you’ve got a location that marks off all honeymoon goals.

A romantic getaway to Crystal Bay

An underrated aquatic destination, Crystal bay ranks high in the list of Bali’s romantic getaways with its exceptionally beautiful diving sites. Get aboard a luxury catamaran and spend a leisurely day, treating yourself to a scrumptious barbecue and exploring the stunning coral reefs that absolutely have to be seen to be believed.

Photogenic and Lively Kuta

Kuta is considered to be Bali's most famous beach resort destination, and is constantly bustling with its local markets and pulsating nightlife. Visit the picturesque Tanah Lot temple, perched on a rock and surrounded by the sea, for some incredibly photogenic moments, or get one with nature as you release baby turtles into the ocean. These are the just a few of the top experiences here in Kuta.

An undisturbed bond with nature

If your love for the sea is mutual, Menjangan should be a must visit in your Balinese honeymoon. The gentle seas surrounding the area are a divers’ delight with its crystal waters, colour-rich coral reefs and a diverse marine life. If luck’s on your side, you might even be able to spot some exotic creatures such as whale sharks, mantas and turtles.

A beautiful change in pace

Ubud is a pleasant change from the frantic pace of other Balinese tourist attractions but it doesn’t lack in fun opportunities at all. If you fancy a little exercise, you can cycle through lush green paddy fields and if the process intrigues you enough, volunteer to become a rice farmer for a day. Another option is rafting through the mighty Ayung river, an adventure that would present you with diverse wildlife and spectacular waterfalls whilst drifting through the untouched Balinese rainforest. Another star attraction of Ubud is the famous Saraswati temple that boasts of intricate, fine carvings and magnificent statues. Along with the beautiful lotus pond and water garden, the temple is a definite marvel, regardless of religious sensibilities.

“With romance flowing freely in its calm atmosphere, Bali has everything any newlywed could wish for in a dream honeymoon, ” says Viren Batra, co-founder of Nirvana Excursions. “While it’s a time-honored favorite, there are still many undiscovered aspects of this destination.”
